Motor temperature can be one of the worst enemies of electric motors. The magnets of brushed motors lose their strength as the temps rise. If you think you’re in the clear because you’re running a brushless set-up, they’re even more susceptible to heat – the magnets that are typically used in RC motors suffer permanent loss of magnet strength once the internal motor temp reaches 175-degrees Fahrenheit (80-degrees C).
